[Video ID] Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Saturday the U.S. should help arm opposition forces inside Iran and may need to conduct additional military operations to secure a “strategic victory” over Tehran. Speaking on “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Pompeo, who also served as CIA director, said he hopes clandestine U.S. assistance to Iranian opposition groups is already underway, though he has seen no evidence of it. The U.S. and Israel could work together “to identify the right organizations, to provide the right tools, the right munitions, the right communications capabilities,” Pompeo said. “If you do that along with continued enormous economic pressure, and then I think we’re going to have to conduct more military effort as well,” he continued. “I think there are more targets that have to continue to be defeated.” Pompeo argued that merely reopening the Strait of Hormuz would be “necessary, but not sufficient,” warning that allowing Iran to control the waterway or charge tolls could embolden other hostile powers. “We have to get the victory here,” Pompeo said. “It is entirely possible to achieve.
