Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has claimed that neighbouring countries have reached out to Tehran seeking new regional security arrangements and greater economic cooperation, as the fallout from the war with the United States and Israel continues to reshape West Asia.
“We’ve received numerous messages from neighboring countries about shaping new security arrangements and economic cooperation in the region,” Ghalibaf said in a post on X on Saturday.
Ghalibaf did not identify the countries that allegedly contacted Iran, provide details about the proposed arrangements or offer evidence of the reported outreach.
The claim comes as regional governments navigate the security and economic consequences of the conflict, while Washington prepares additional sanctions against Tehran.

‘US Put Allies At Risk For The Sake Of Israel’
Ghalibaf accused the United States of putting the security of its own allies at risk by prioritising Israel.
“The United States put the security of every single one of its allies at such risk through bullying and pure disregard for their interests for the sake of Israel that they briefly saw their entire existence on the line,” he said.
Ghalibaf added that a “homegrown, independent order” would bring peace and security to the region.
His remarks reflect Tehran’s push for greater regional security cooperation without reliance on foreign powers. However, there is currently no independent confirmation that the countries referred to by Ghalibaf are seeking formal security agreements with Iran.
Iran Pushes For A ‘New Regional Order’
Ghalibaf has previously called for a new regional order that does not depend on foreign involvement.

“It is better that we bring the war to an end now, as we are in a position of power and dignity,” Pezeshkian said on Friday. He also claimed that the world had recognised what he described as Iran’s victory.
Pezeshkian’s comments came amid stalled diplomatic efforts and mounting economic pressure. He framed an end to the conflict as something Iran should pursue from a position of strength, rather than as a concession to Washington.
